-Shashi's Mistakes-

Now, I will post on the mistake that I think Shashi should not do in the movie of English Vinglish. Based on the movie, I found that there is several action that Sashi does that lead to the situation which she also does not want it to happen as it make her feel annoying or humiliate her ownself. Firstly, the scene when she is at the cafe at the New York,at which she struggles so much to order a sandwich and a coffee for herself to eat. She misunderstood the sentences from the cafe staff which asking her what is she doing now means here is her job but she keep going to order by telling "I am doing....vegetarian." So, that is totally wrong to be at somewhere place or foreign country that we did not familiar with, without good understanding in English. At least, Sashi should bring someone with her to the cafe so that it would be easy and any doubt or problem related to public will not occur as she not good and cannot speak well in English. As consequences, the people or customers at the cafe felt annoying and disturbed by the incident that happened from Sashi's doing.
Besides, the scene when Sashi had landed at the New York at which at the airport also shows one of her offenses. This is because her husband have prepared her with basic answer if she been asking by the immigration's officer on her requirement to travel to New York but Sashi keep memorized all those answer without knowing the meaning. As the result, she told the wrong answer to the officer that make the officer unable to understand what she trying to tell. As the viewers, this scene consider as funny scene and simultaneously shows Sashi's weakness to the public.

~Annoying characacter of Mr. Satish Gadbole~

-Annoying face of Mr. Satish Gadbole-

From the movie of English Vinglish, there is one character that i feel it ruining and spoiling the mood of spectators while watching this movie which is Mr. Satish Gadbole at which Sashi's husband. This character should not be in the movie besides this character should be replace with a character of husband which has the values of loving, caring, proud and gratitude enough to have such an adorable and concern enough liked Sashi. For me, Satish does not has enough element to make spectators satisfy as a good husband. I hate this character because Satish always look down to his wife and never trust his wife to have an ability to talk in English for example when Sashi's niece ask her to speak to the audience during the wedding day, Satish held Sashi's hand not to give her the courages to talk but he told the audience that his wife not good in English. I think as his wife, this would be something that humiliate his wife dignity. Furthermore, as a husband that wise enough to guide a family, Satish should not laugh when Sashi pronounce wrongly while speaking in English because this would make Sashi feel uncomfortable to talk in English thus she would not get improve her English as she think it would be sarcasm to her. Spectator's will get a little monotonous watching Sashi make wounde-puppy eyes every time she feel hurts by Satish or her daughter Sapna. Lastly, I wish that this character (Satish) should be replace with Laurent the French man, as he known as the romantic and concern man although this element only shown by being Sashi's friend in the movie. There is no expression of Satish's face that show he is satisfy at most of the scene in the movie.

Let's watch 'English Vinglish'!

English Vinglish is a story of a housewife Shashi and her quest to learn English. Shashi has two kids and she lives in Mumbai with her family. Though she is a perfect house maker, she is often criticised by her husband and kids for not knowing English. Shashi's niece understands her pain and she tells her to learn English to get the respect of the family. Shashi takes the challenge to learn the language and joins an English speaking class. In her class, she is instructed to break long words into two to learn them, so she is told to learn Manhattan by breaking into two - Man and hattan. In the same way, she breaks the word judgemental into two, judge and mental. Shashi's struggle and determination to learn English makes the most interesting part of the movie. The movie shows the craze of Indian families to speak English, which creates many hilarious situations.
First and foremost, i like a lot the character of Mrs Sashi Godbole in this movie due to several good manners and moral values that had been shown by her to the spectators throughout the movie. That is precisely what Mrs Shashi Godbole (Sridevi), Pune-based mother of two, is constantly subjected to by her corporate executive-husband, Satish (Adil Hussain), and her school-going daughter.

-High determination in learning English.. Big smile!!

Mrs Sashi shows her love and care towards her family very tremendously although her husband and her daughter always condemned and make her feel ridiculed for her weakness in speaking in English. Through the film, Shashi (Sridevi), the perfect Indian middle-aged housewife, who knows no better than to keep her family happy. So, while her ever-busy-with-work hubby (Adil Hussain) and mocking daughter Sapna team up to scoff at her broken English, she takes it in her stride and feeds them yummy food instead. She loves cooking; snacks and ladoos to be precise. And packets of delicious food items made by her sell like hot cake in the neighbourhood. Her adorable younger son Sagar and mother-in-law (Sulabha Deshpande) provide her with the occasional but much required comic relief. She flies to The United States of America to help out with her niece’s wedding, two weeks before her family would join her. These two weeks prove to be crucial in Shashi’s life. Circumstances compel her to overcome her insecurities; master the English language and eventually transform into a self assured and confident woman.
- Posing with Michael Jackson's pose.
Besides, Mrs Sashi also shows her determination and perseverance while learning to speak and pronounce English in the correct way at the New York when she was send by her husband several prior day before all her family went there. She try and put herself with badly effort even though she does not get the support from her husband and family. For me, it is quite hard and though to put ourselves in such a risk and critical condition.
-Best scene between Sashi and Laurent.. Must watch!!
Therefore, it is benefit enough to watch this movie as it give a thousand of moral values, manners and meaning of life in various aspect for an individual. It explores family values and relationships with each and every aspect of family dynamics is been handled with utmost care. Sensitivity is the forte of this film and it naturally works wonders. There are few well-written, delicious scenes which you’d wish would never end.
Thus,as the end of my topic today, I would ask all the readers of my blog outside there to watch, enjoy and feel with full of your heart for English Vinglish with your family vamily. You’ll be charmed varmed, rest assured.
